The India Manufacturing Show was conceived in 2009 by Laghu Udyog
Bharati-Karnataka chapter with an objective to promote and showcase manufacturing
powerhouse and capabilities of Indian MSMEs to the global and local markets.
India Manufacturing Show (IMS) basically showcases latest trends, innovations and
advancements happening in the manufacturing sector in the space of new product
development across India and the world. The Show also promotes Vendor Development
Programme, Sourcing and avenues to B2B interaction directly
IMS is a perfect platform for businesses in every industry vertical of the manufacturing
industry. Over the years, IMS has continued to foster growth in Indian Market and play
a mission critical role in offering viable opportunities for companies new to the region.
IMS platform also hosts Technical Seminars to motivate and inspire budding
entrepreneurs and aspiring students to transform them to becoming ‘Entrepreneurs’ to
serve the nation in near future.
Being the largest and most influential manufacturing show, IMS continues to support

In support of LUB-K, a global level exhibition is hosted successfully in the years 2010,
2012, 2014, 2017 and 2022. This International event focuses on providing both
manufacturing and marketing support to MSMEs.
Of late, India Manufacturing Show (IMS) is the country's premier trade fair for
engineering companies. IMS offers participating companies a unique, never before
platform to exhibit their products and services to prominent manufacturers in the
ecosystem. IMS is normally held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC),
Bangalore, India.
IMS Foundation in association with Laghu Udyog Bharati-Karnataka very
successfully organised the 5th
India Manufacturing Show: IMS 2022-MSME Aerospace
and Defence Expo which kicked off on September 15 and closed on 17, 2022 at BIEC,
Bengaluru. Thereby, reaffirming its brand position as being the harbinger of
manufacturing sector especially the MSMEs in the nation.
Shri Prahlad Joshi, Hon’ble Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Basavaraj
Bommai, Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka (GoK) and Dr. Murugesh Nirani,
Hon’ble Minister for Large and Medium Industries, Government of Karnataka (GoK)
and Shri S R Vishwanath, MLA and Chairman BDA inaugurated IMS 2022 event. Several
Central and State Government Departmental Heads, dignitaries including Industry
Leaders and Domain Experts were present at the Inaugural ceremony on September
15, 2022.
The main focus of the 5th edition of IMS 2022 was on Aerospace & Defense
Engineering along with Automation & Robotics, Energy & Environment, Electronics
and Electricals and General Engineering
The 5th Edition of IMS 2022 created a sort of record as over 300 Indian Corporate (both
Large Scale Industries and MSMEs) showcased their products and services. Again, it
was a best ever as the Exhibition saw over 11,947 Business Visitors spread over three
days. There were over 40 international visitors; around 1,699 marketing
representatives were physically present on all three days in the exhibition. Over 187
VIPs, 82 Media personnel and 1217 Students visited both exhibition halls. Total
number of footfalls recorded thru registration at the counter (entry point) was 15,269.
The best part of 5th Edition of IMS 2022 was an exclusive and extensive session on
vendor development business opportunities for the MSMEs that was organised. Various
PSUs and corporate sector showcased their reserved list earmarked exclusively for
MSME participation by way of co-creation, collaborations, Joint ventures and setting up
of subsidiaries. In addition to business opportunities presented at India Manufacturing
Show, the show equally hosted 10 high-level Conferences including vendor
development from top PSUs like DRDO Labs, HAL, BEL, BHEL, BEML which showcased
reserved list for MSMEs to collaborate and co-create products and services for masses.
IMS witnessed both Atmanirbhar Bharat & Swavalambi Bharat having its exhibitors
showcasing their innovations & indigenized products. Few examples are listed below:
The primary objective of Vendor Development Program was to develop MSMEs as
competitive manufacturers and suppliers of components required by large industries
for local and overseas market through international linkages. It is a known fact that
Vendor development is one of the popular techniques of strategic sourcing, which
improves the value we receive from suppliers. Laghu Udyog Bharati and IMS
Foundation being in the forefront of promoting Vendor Development among
Entrepreneurs, the last day was entirely dedicated for this purpose.
