As part of its CSR initiative, IMS Foundation in association Laghu Udyog Bharati-Karnataka launched its first in the series “Clinic on Wheels” on April 1, 2023 in Bengaluru.
Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamji, Pontiff, Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math, blessed the project. Shri. B L Santhosh, National Secretary-Organisation, Bharatiya Janata Party was also present at the launching ceremony.
Clinic on Wheels is a digitally enabled moving Health Clinic. The main aim is to screen the complete health of people based out of Rural and Tribal parts of India and provide them with complete Healthcare facilities at their door step. While doing so, the system also takes the responsibility to educate them to adapt a healthy lifestyle and support them to uplift their socio-economic status.
Other key organisations involved in the Clinic On Wheels project included Madhurima Sewa Sanskar Foundation, Saptagiri Institute of Medical Science, Ananta Charitable Education Society and United Phosphorus Limited.

Delivering the welcome address Dr. Sachin Sabnis, President, Laghu Udyog Bharati-Karnataka said that we expect more such Clinic of Wheels to be launched and moving across the width and breath of rural regions serving the poor masses with quality healthcare at their doorsteps.
He said that although the government has introduced multiple health programs under the National Health Mission, and established around 30,000 Primary Healthcare Centres in the country, majority of PHCs lack manpower and infrastructure. There are areas beyond the reach of these programs and people do not have access to basic health infrastructure and services. It is here the Clinic on Wheels will pay a very major in providing quality healthcare services to the untouched masses.
Making healthcare innovative in its affordability and accessibility is a biggest challenge the world continues to face. Coupled with access to information and technology, improvement in healthcare policies and re-organizing healthcare delivery systems to address basic aspects like cleanliness and hygiene in achieving Universal Health Coverage.

Clinics on Wheels are an innovative model of healthcare delivery that could help alleviate health disparities in vulnerable populations and individuals with chronic diseases. Clinic on Wheels are particularly impactful in offering urgent care, providing preventative health screenings, and initiating chronic disease managements. By opening their doors directly into communities and leveraging existing community assets, Clinic on Wheels can offer tailored, high-impact and affordable health care that responds dynamically to the community’s evolving needs.

Shri N Tippeswamy, Dakshina Madhya Kshetra Karyavaha and Dr. Swapna Singh, Co-Founder AMCI were also present on the occasion. Shri K Narayana Prasanna, General Secretary, Laghu Udyog Bharati – Karnataka proposed the vote of thanks. In all over 250 Doctors, Paramedics, Medical Institutions, labs and other stakeholders were present at the inaugural function in Bengaluru.
